Provincial lands are located between 40 \u00b0 18 &#8216;and 41 \u00b0 08&#8217; north latitudes and 36 \u00b0 52 &#8216;and 38 \u00b0 12&#8217; east longitudes. It is surrounded by Samsun from the west, Tokat and Sivas from the south, Giresun from the east and the Black Sea from the north.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Origin of the Name<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The first settlement in the city of Ordu BC III. century was initiated by Niletli Colonists. The location of the first city, which was founded by Niletli Colonists under the name Cotyora (Cotyora), is unknown today. Cotyora, which was ruled by Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantines, started to lose its importance and vitality. Bucak name was translated to <a href=\"https:\/\/dndtour.com\/en\/\">ORDU<\/a> in 1869-1870. Bolaman, Thursday, Ulubey, Hansamana (G\u00f6lk\u00f6y) and Aybast\u0131 districts were connected to this new district center.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Climate<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The city has a typical Black Sea climate. However, with decreasing mountain heights passing behind, it receives less rainfall compared to the Eastern Black Sea. The number of frosty days in winter is limited to one or two days.
