Ordu<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Province located in the Central Black Sea region of Ordu Black Sea region. Provincial lands are located between 40 \u00b0 18 ‘and 41 \u00b0 08’ north latitudes and 36 \u00b0 52 ‘and 38 \u00b0 12’ east longitudes. It is surrounded by Samsun from the west, Tokat and Sivas from the south, Giresun from the east and the Black Sea from the north.<\/p>\n

The Origin of the Name<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>The first settlement in the city of Ordu BC III. century was initiated by Niletli Colonists. The location of the first city, which was founded by Niletli Colonists under the name Cotyora (Cotyora), is unknown today. Cotyora, which was ruled by Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantines, started to lose its importance and vitality. Seljuk Turks (such as Dani\u015fmentliler, Hac\u0131 Emiro\u011fullar\u0131) were established under the name of Bayraml\u0131 in today’s Eskipazar, 4 km south of the city, after the Cotiora of Ordu Province, which came under the domination of the Ottomans.<\/p>\n

When Bayraml\u0131 town lost its old vitality in the beginning of the 18th century, a new district center was born in the west. Bucak name was translated to ORDU<\/a> in 1869-1870. Bolaman, Thursday, Ulubey, Hansamana (G\u00f6lk\u00f6y) and Aybast\u0131 districts were connected to this new district center.<\/p>\n

Climate<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The city has a typical Black Sea climate. However, with decreasing mountain heights passing behind, it receives less rainfall compared to the Eastern Black Sea. The number of frosty days in winter is limited to one or two days. It rains for 6 months to the elevations of the district.<\/p>\n

Historical Places to See in Ordu<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Pa\u015fao\u011flu Mansion Ethnography Museum<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ethnography Museum, located in Selimiye District in the city center, was built in 1896 by Pa\u015fao\u011flu H\u00fcseyin Efendi as a mansion.<\/p>\n

This three-storey mansion attracts attention with its original architecture.<\/p>\n

Pa\u015fao\u011flu Mansion, whose motifs and ornaments are epic in languages, started to be used as Ethnography Museum in 1987.<\/p>\n

Saray Turkish Bath<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There are three domes in Saray Bath, located in Selimiye District in the city center.<\/p>\n

It is not known exactly when this old bath was built.<\/p>\n

Atik \u0130brahim Pasha (Orta) Mosque<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Built by Atik \u0130brahim Pasha in 1770, the mosque was destroyed after a while. However, it was renewed in the following periods.<\/p>\n

Bolaman Castle and Hazinedaro\u011flu Mansion<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Bolaman Castle, located in the district of Fatsa, consists of 2 separate sections, as a surveillance and police station.<\/p>\n

A wooden mansion was built in the 18th century, just above the castle.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Board Castle Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Board Castle Campus, which is very close to the city center, is an archaeological site chosen as a first degree natural protected area.<\/p>\n

200-300 stairs belonging to the ancient city were found.<\/p>\n

Ceramics made of baked clay were unearthed.<\/p>\n
